Sportswear has become increasingly popular within the fashion industry and is seen less as a comfort but more of an up and coming fashion trned. Designers such as Alexander Wang and Philli Lim have partculary shown great designs within their collections which represent a new look towards sportswear, making it a luxe wardbrobe item. The key to making this trned work is being able to balance the right amount of comfort with the right amount of glamour, for example combining a pair of jersey style trousers with a pair of high heels to create maximum glamour.
The “sports luxe” ranges are designed to create comfortable stylish clothings which are acceptable to wear outside of the gym. Sequins, shiny fabrics and studded details have all been used to turn a sportswear item into a catwalk fashion item. The recent collaboration with Adidas and Stella McCartney is an indication of how big this trend could become and is quite likely going to be a lingering one for a while. The designed items are often quite versatile allowing you to wear them night and day and just adding accessories, diffeent shoes and different style of make up to create differnt looks depending on the time of day.
High Street stores such as American Apparel are bang on trend with the items they sell in store combining brighr colours and patterns to plain, simple items such as items like the legging and the all in one body adding a chic twist to a simple garment allowing you to also create your own unique style.
